Curious About Me?

The eldest of three children, with two doctor parents, I grew up in a fairly well-off middle-class family in Singapore. I had a good education, finally completing my Bachelor of Arts in Economics & graduating from the National University of Singapore in 2005.

That is a typical background of myself.

 

Quirky, individualistic and attracted to the creative arts, I have had an independent streak for most of my life. That includes having very independent opinions of what I expect my life to be like. I am allergic to routine 9-to-5 jobs and I highly detest mountains of paperwork, being desk-bound and cooped up in the office for the better part of the day.

I would suffocate if my life were like that. I’m serious.

 

 I do not plan on being a doctor, economist, accountant, teacher, lawyer, banker, engineer, manager, prime minister or president. My life does not revolve around getting a degree, progressing towards Masters, getting married, buying a house & a car, having 2.1 children, earning big bucks, retiring early and having a grand funeral. Those are important, but not important enough.

Other than the “earning big bucks” part. I would love to earn big bucks.

I AM AN ACTOR. Yes, my career is built on Acting.
*I am a female “actor”, not an ultra-pretentious “actress”, ‘cos you don’t see female doctors calling themselves “doctress” right?

 

Albeit, a currently struggling, budding freelance actor. But an actor nonetheless.

My dream is to be a singer-actress and break into the Taiwan entertainment circle. My dream is to star in international commercial films as part of the lead/supporting cast. My dream is, basically, to act.

I’m not afraid of obstacles, struggles & setbacks. I’m just afraid of never stepping out to fulfil my dream.
